Course Structure

This course seeks to develop the students’ knowledge base gradually over months and years. This is necessary as it establishes a firm foundation upon which other pillars of Islam can more easily be built. This method also ensures the students are not overloaded with new knowledge and information along with what they may also be studying at school, college, or elsewhere.  Lessons are split into bite-sized portions to keep the concentration span short. Different topics are chosen and taught in these bite-sized sessions, with reinforcement through testing at the end of each topic to ensure the lesson has been thoroughly understood and the student can confidently relay what has been learned.

1) Tajweed Qaida Course

Beginner students of the Qaida will be taught the six kalimah, the salah, the janaza salat, how to perform wudu, and basic Islamic studies.

2) Quran Tajweed

When the students make progress from the beginner stage, they will be advanced to the next stage, which is the Holy Quran recitation stage. With the recitation of the Holy Quran, which helps the student to beautify and project their voice, the students also learn the meanings of the six Kalimah and salat. The obligatory rules of both the salat and wudu will be learned and practised regularly. From the Holy Quran, the last ten suras in the last juz will be memorised.
Further progress for the students takes place when they advance to the memorization of the last twenty surahs of the last juz of the Holy Quran. The understanding of the meanings of the daily duas, along with the basic studies of the lives of the prophets and the companions of the last prophet Mohammed (SAW),

3) Quran Memorization

As knowledge and confidence increase in the student, further memorization of the surahs will take place, including surahs Mulk, Yasin, and Kahf.

4) Essential duas and etiquettes

5) Islamic Studies

Islamic studies will be enhanced through the teaching of the five pillars of Islam, including respect for parents and the elderly, based upon the stories from the lives of the companions of Prophet Mohammed (SAW). The Seerah of Prophet Mohammed (SAW) with rules for application in daily life (Masail) will, inshaAllah, by this stage have prepared the students to be confident about their Deen with a thirst for learning more.

Leeds Basic Tajweed Course

We at Leeds Basic Tajweed Course take very seriously the issues of health and safety and safeguarding.

Confidential information submitted in this form will remain confidential with Leeds Basic Tajweed Course and will not be shared or discussed with any other person or people other than those named in this form.

In order to fully protect the young students (under 16) while the class is in progress, it is our requirement that an adult be present at all times within the same room. Should, for any reason, the adult wish to leave the room, they must either ensure another adult sits in or remove the student from the room until their return.

This is our strict requirement in the very best interest of the student, and we reserve the right to terminate the class in the absence of an adult being present.

Our experience has shown that students gain the best learning outcomes when the topic being taught is revised and revisited two to three days later. With this in mind, it is our suggestion that two, one-hour lessons be booked per week. However, the choice is entirely yours.

Whichever of the above is chosen, either one hour or two hours per week of lessons, it is very important for the students to practise the lessons with encouragement and active participation from parents or guardians off-line between the lessons.

This helps to build their confidence rapidly, and they feel that other members of the family take an interest in what they are learning, thus sharing any concerns they may have with them.

Should you wish to discuss any aspect of this course or require further clarification, then please do not hesitate to contact Hafiz Hanif either by email or phone.
